Blurry vision? No, thank you! When you are experiencing vision problems, you need a practical solution as soon as possible. Your Total Vision optometrists in Tierrasanta are well qualified to make a proper diagnosis and offer proactive treatment from your first visit.

As your local, caring comprehensive eye care center, our entire team is focused on protecting and maintaining the visual acuity and ocular health of the whole family.

Refractive Errors

The most common cause of blurred vision are “refractive errors,” when the eye does not bend light correctly, resulting in blurriness. Armed with a precise glasses or contact lens prescription from your Total Vision optometrist, treating your refractive error with glasses or contact lenses is easy and convenient. If you’re interested in learning more about Lasik surgery and whether it could be a lasting and appropriate solution for you, schedule a Lasik consultation with your eye doctor to learn more.

Types of Refractive Errors Include:

Myopia

Also called nearsightedness, myopia is caused by the shape of the eye. Nearsighted patients experience blurriness in the faraway field of vision.

Astigmatism

Caused by the shape of the cornea, astigmatism causes general blurry or blurred vision.

Hyperopia

More commonly known as farsightedness, hyperopia is also caused by the shape of the eye. Patients with farsightedness experience blurriness in the near field of vision.

Presbyopia

Occurring in patients over 40, presbyopia is a type of farsightedness that occurs in many patients as part of the natural aging process.

Eye Conditions

Relatively common eye conditions such as strabismus (when the eyes don’t work properly together) and amblyopia (or ‘lazy eye’) are usually correctable with appropriate treatment. However, neglecting treatment can lead to permanent vision loss. Your Total Vision optometrist can guide you toward effective treatments from glasses to eye exercises to surgery and more.

Eye Diseases

Most eye diseases are curable or at least treatable, but early diagnosis is key. By keeping up with your annual Total Vision eye exam, you allow your eye doctor to monitor your eye health over time and help to prevent the development of serious eye diseases such as macular degeneration or glaucoma.

It is important to also ensure your eye doctor is aware of other health issues - for example, patients with diabetes can develop diabetic retinopathy, a serious sight-threatening complication. If an eye disease should develop, your local Total Vision is prepared to offer the latest and most up-to-date treatments to help you protect your vision and stay healthy. We have optometrists Tierrasanta residents rely on.

WE ARE OPEN DURING COVID-19

COVID-19 Update:

Dear Patient,
We are pleased to announce that the California Department of Public Health has given us permission to resume full scope eye care, including preventative care and postponed exams.

At Total Vision Care, the health of our patients, doctors, and associates is our top priority. We are taking precautions to ensure the safety of our community.

Health and safety protocols we are taking:

  • All visits are by appointment to ensure social distancing. This includes picking up of glasses/contact lenses, adjustments on glasses, and ordering new products.
  • Patients are asked to arrive to their appointment alone and notify us from your vehicle once you arrive (a parent/guardian may accompany a minor and a family member/caretaker may assist a senior). Please call the office and someone will greet you at the door.
  • Prior to your entry a team member will take your temperature, provide you with hand sanitizer and ask you a series of questions regarding your health and possible COVID-19 exposure. Our team members are all subject to these same screening protocols.
  • All doctors, associates, and patients must wear masks.
  • Our team sterilizes all equipment and surfaces after every patient and disinfects all frames prior to placing them back on display.

What we ask of patients:

  • If you have any of the following symptoms, you must reschedule your appointment for a future date: Fever, fatigue, cough, shortness of breath, gastro-intestinal symptoms (diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, or stomach pains), recent loss of smell or taste.
  • Please bring a mask which must be worn in our facilities at all times.
  • Your patience in adhering to new safety protocols.
  • Please feel welcome to communicate any questions that you have to your Total Vision Care practice associates.

In addition, we will continue to monitor CDC, WHO, governmental, and optometric associations guidelines and make changes as appropriate to protect our the community. Thank you so much for your continued support of our practices. We appreciate your patience throughout this process and for trusting us with your eyecare needs.

Sincerely,
The Total Vision Care Family of Eyecare Professionals
